Lakewood Heights Elementary Redevelopment
Ali-Graceline Development was selected by Atlanta Urban Development and Atlanta Public Schools to redevelop the former Lakewood Heights Elementary School at 335 Sawtell Ave. SE. The plan preserves the 1932 school building and adds mixed-income housing and neighborhood-serving commercial space. Plans show 54,721 square feet in total, including 42,721 residential and 12,000 commercial. The Atlanta Board of Education approved the development agreement and ground lease on September 1, 2026, followed by the Atlanta Urban Development board on September 24. Construction is expected to begin in Q4 2027.
