North Point Sports and Entertainment District
Proposed redevelopment of the nearly 100-acre North Point Mall site in Alpharetta into a mixed-use sports and entertainment district anchored by a 20,000-seat arena, with 565,000 square feet of restaurants and retail, 750,000 square feet of office, a hotel, a performing arts center and nearly 1,400 apartment units. Jamestown, the Ponce City Market developer, was selected in February 2026 to lead the project with site owner New York Life. The Alpharetta City Council approved the rezoning 4 to 3 in August 2026. Public financing runs through Alpharetta's North Point tax allocation district, and Fulton County's participation, approved in October 2026, is contingent on Alpharetta securing an NHL franchise. No franchise has been awarded, and the NHL has said it is not running a formal expansion process.
