In 2008, after more than ten years in pharmaceutical sales, owner Donald Sargent decided to follow a passion that brought people together—making ice cream.
Donald and his wife, Clarissa Morelli, opened Morelli’s Gourmet Ice Cream with a simple goal: to create the best and most unique ice cream in Atlanta for their community to enjoy. What began as a small walk-up shop in East Atlanta quickly became a favorite neighborhood stop, drawing families, friends, and ice cream lovers all summer long.
Word spread fast, and soon food critics from across the country were lining up to try Morelli’s. In 2009, Bon Appétit Magazine recognized Morelli’s as the 4th Best Ice Cream Shop in America, a moment of pride for both the shop and the community that supported it from the start.
