About

About This Program

State funding for local agencies that run homelessness prevention, rapid re-housing, shelters and outreach. Help comes through local providers.

The Emergency Solutions Grants (ESG) Program, run by the Georgia Department of Community Affairs (DCA), funds street outreach, emergency shelter, rapid re-housing, homelessness prevention and related services for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness across Georgia. DCA gives sub-awards from the State Housing Trust Fund for the Homeless and federal HUD ESG funds to local governments and nonprofits, which deliver the services locally. Households do not apply to DCA. DCA says it has no emergency housing of its own and asks people who need immediate help because they are homeless or at risk to email HomelessInfo@dca.ga.gov.
