About

About This Program

SBA-guaranteed loans of up to $5 million through participating lenders, for working capital, equipment, real estate, refinancing and more.

The 7(a) loan program is the U.S. Small Business Administration's main business loan program. SBA does not lend the money itself: it guarantees loans made by participating lenders, and you apply directly with a lender. Loans of up to $5 million can be used to buy, refinance or improve real estate and buildings, for short- and long-term working capital, to refinance business debt, to buy and install machinery and equipment (including AI-related expenses), to buy furniture, fixtures and supplies, and for changes of ownership. The business must operate for profit in the U.S., be small under SBA size rules, be creditworthy, and be unable to get the credit on reasonable terms from non-government sources. SBA's Lender Match tool connects you with participating lenders, and the SBA Georgia District Office can answer questions. A 7(a) Working Capital Pilot also offers monitored lines of credit of up to $5 million for qualifying businesses.
