About

About This Program

A grant of up to 2% of your first mortgage for down payment and closing costs on a Cobb County home. No first-time buyer requirement.

The Cobb County My Home Down Payment Assistance (DPA) Program, launched by the Housing Authority of Cobb County in 2019, gives buyers of homes in Cobb County a non-repayable grant of 0%, 1% or 2% of the first mortgage amount for down payment and closing costs. It comes with a 30-year fixed-rate FHA, VA or Freddie Mac HFA Advantage first mortgage from a participating lender, and there is no first-time buyer requirement. Full-time Cobb County Government employees with at least 12 months of service can get an extra $10,000 grant. City of Marietta full-time employees can get an extra $10,000, or $15,000 for public safety employees. The county's page sends buyers to the program's website, GeorgiaBuyerDPA.com, for requirements and participating lenders.
