About

About This Program

City of Atlanta and Invest Atlanta loans to clean up contaminated brownfield sites in Atlanta so redevelopment can move forward.

The City of Atlanta-Invest Atlanta Brownfield Revolving Loan Fund (BRLF), funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, finances the cleanup of contaminated (brownfield) sites within Atlanta city limits so redevelopment projects can go forward. Loan terms are customized to the project's cash flow, interest-only payments may be available in the first year, and the fixed rate is expected to fall between 0% and the market rate plus 1%. Invest Atlanta focuses on targeted communities, including the Atlanta BeltLine, Donald Lee Hollowell Parkway, Simpson Road, Jonesboro Road, Campbellton Road, the Stadium Neighborhoods, Memorial Drive, the Proctor Creek watershed and several Opportunity Zones. Borrowers must be creditworthy, consistent with the City's economic development plan, and willing to take part in the Georgia Brownfields Program. The fact sheet, guidelines and fillable application are on Invest Atlanta's Brownfield page, and the application fee is waived. Loans depend on available funds.
