About

About This Program

Clayton County posts bids on BidNet Direct, free to join, and certifies small local businesses for contract goals and a local vendor preference.

Clayton County's Central Services Department buys all commodities, equipment and services for the County. Bids, quotes and proposals are posted on BidNet Direct, and responses are accepted only electronically through BidNet; registration is free with the Limited Access option. Vendors that win a bid or are asked for a quote register in the Clayton Vendor Access Portal (C-VAP) and upload a W-9. The Small Local Business Enterprise (SLBE) program sets participation goals on some contracts for small firms based in Clayton or 10 nearby counties (Cherokee, Cobb, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Gwinnett, Henry, Rockdale and Spalding), and the Local Vendor Preference program applies to bids and proposals from contractors with a Clayton County address. Apply for either certification at least 30 days before you bid. The department also runs a Mentor Protégé Program.
