About

About This Program

Find mission-driven lenders certified by the U.S. Treasury that make affordable small business loans; the CDFI Fund itself doesn't lend.

Community Development Financial Institutions (CDFIs) are mission-driven credit unions, banks, loan funds and venture capital funds certified by the U.S. Treasury's CDFI Fund to serve low-income communities, with services such as affordable lending and financial education. The CDFI Fund does not lend directly to individuals or businesses; it finances CDFIs, which then lend to entrepreneurs and business owners. To find one, use the CDFI Fund's list of certified CDFIs, which can be sorted by name, location or type and includes contact information, or search its awards database by state for CDFI Program awardees. Some CDFIs serve only their own city, while others serve nearby counties or the whole state.
