About

About This Program

SBA certification for women-owned small businesses whose owners meet economic limits, opening federal contracts reserved for EDWOSBs and WOSBs.

Economically Disadvantaged Women-Owned Small Business (EDWOSB) certification is part of SBA's Women-Owned Small Business Federal Contract program. Some federal contracts in industries where women-owned businesses are underrepresented are reserved for EDWOSBs. An EDWOSB must meet every WOSB requirement, and each woman owner must have a personal net worth under $850,000 (retirement accounts excluded), average adjusted gross income of $400,000 or less over the previous three years, and $6.5 million or less in personal assets. Firms in the 8(a) program can provide their latest annual review or acceptance letter. Apply at SBA Certifications, SBA's free online certification process; SBA aims to decide within 90 days of a complete application. The certification applies only to federal contracts.
