About

About This Program

Forsyth County posts solicitations on its Procurement Solicitation Portal, and every vendor doing business with the County registers in Vendor Self Service.

Forsyth County's Procurement Department buys goods, services, equipment and construction for County departments. Solicitations are posted on the County's Procurement Solicitation Portal (PSP) and the Georgia Procurement Registry; those over set thresholds are also advertised in the Forsyth County News. All vendors doing business with the County must register in the Vendor Self Service (VSS) portal, where they manage company and contact details, choose commodity codes, and see purchase orders, invoices and payments. Quotes are used for purchases of about $2,300 to $49,999, invitations to bid for purchases of $50,000 and up, and requests for proposals for more complex purchases. Bids are opened publicly and prices are read aloud; award information is posted on the PSP after Board of Commissioners approval.
