About

About This Program

The Georgia Business Council certifies minority-owned businesses (MBEs), one of the approved routes to the State of Georgia's free business certification.

The Georgia Business Council certifies Minority Business Enterprise (MBE) firms, according to the Georgia Department of Administrative Services; the old gmsdc.org address now goes to the council's website. MBE certification from the council is one of the approved routes to the State of Georgia's Business Certification, which the State issues at no charge through GA@WORK Marketplace for Suppliers, usually within 30 to 60 days. The council's own certification is a separate application, and any fees are set by the council. For the State's certification, a minority-owned business is at least 51% owned and controlled by one or more minorities (African American, Asian-Pacific American, Asian-Indian American, Hispanic or Native American) and is domiciled in Georgia.
