About

About This Program

Georgia state certification for minority-, women- and veteran-owned businesses, listed in the supplier database state and local buyers use.

The Georgia Department of Administrative Services (DOAS) Georgia Business Certification Program, created by House Bill 128 in 2023 and in effect since January 1, 2024, certifies Georgia-based minority-owned, women-owned and veteran-owned businesses, with or without the small business designation (six certification types). Certified businesses are listed in the state supplier database that state and local government buyers and other suppliers can see, and companies that subcontract with a DOAS-certified firm on state work may qualify for a Georgia income tax adjustment. You must first be certified by an approved organization: the Georgia Department of Transportation (DBE), the Georgia Business Council (MBE), the Greater Women's Business Council (WBE), the National Veteran-Owned Business Association, the U.S. Small Business Administration (EDWOSB, WOSB, VOSB or 8(a)) or the U.S. Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce. Then apply through the GA@WORK Marketplace for Suppliers, under Additional Resources. There is no DOAS application fee, and decisions take about 30 to 60 days.
