About

About This Program

GWBC certifies women-owned businesses through WBENC and offers programs, mentoring and corporate matchmaking events across Georgia and the Carolinas.

The Greater Women's Business Council (GWBC) is a nonprofit regional partner of the Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC) that certifies women-owned businesses in Georgia, North Carolina and South Carolina. WBENC certification confirms a business is at least 51% owned, managed and controlled by one or more women and is accepted by hundreds of corporations and some government agencies. There's no minimum size or time in business, but the business must be established and incorporated. Apply online through WBENCLink2.0 with the required documents; the process takes about 3 to 4 months, recertification is yearly, and the non-refundable fee runs from $350 (under $1 million in revenue) to $1,250 ($50 million and up). GWBC also runs the Accelerate education series, cohort and mentor-protégé programs, Power of Partnering events and matchmaker meetings with corporate buyers. GWBC certification is also one of the approved routes to the State of Georgia's business certification.
