About

About This Program

Henry County posts bids on OpenGov and reserves some contracts under $100,000 for certified small or veteran-owned local businesses.

Henry County's Purchasing Department posts its newer bids on the County's OpenGov procurement portal; bids from before February 2025 are on a separate page. The County's Local Sheltered Market Program reserves some supply and service contracts worth less than $100,000 a year for certified small or veteran-owned businesses based in Henry County or nearby counties (Butts, Clayton, Cobb, Coweta, DeKalb, Douglas, Fayette, Fulton, Gwinnett, Newton, Rockdale and Spalding). To be certified, a business must have been licensed and in business in Georgia for at least two years, show experience in its commodity codes, and perform at least 60% of the contracted work. Construction contracts over $100,000, specialized professional services, sole-source and emergency purchases, and federal and state grant-funded projects are exempt. Henry County does not give preferences in awarding bids or contracts to disadvantaged, minority-, women- or veteran-owned businesses; its Supplier Inclusion page lists outside certification resources.
