Atlanta's spending big this week - on trails, towers, and tax penalties
Atlanta's tallest building has been a place people badge into and flee by 5 p.m. since 1992. This week, CP Group, the same firm behind The CTR's reinvention, is betting $15 million on restaurants, a market, and a private club to change that. It's the third landmark this owner has opened up to people who don't work there, and we're asking whether it's enough to pull people in off the sidewalk. Also in this issue, the Beltline approved its largest budget ever with the 2030 funding cliff bearing down, and Dekalb County rolled out a blight tax that can hit neglected buildings with rates 10 times the norm.
