About This Short
Northwest: 5.5 miles from Donald Lee Hollowell to Armour Yards using the CSX freight line. $800M and serves Piedmont Hospital.
Southwest: Murphy Ave to Donald Lee Hollowell.
Southeast: Murphy Ave to Glenwood Ave.
The Eastside Trail section is still undecided after community pushback changed the city’s starting point. The big vision is three loops of light rail: one around the BeltLine, plus a northern loop and a southern loop. But those extra loops depend on extending the Atlanta Streetcar to the Eastside Trail and Ponce City Market. That question came up in the public meeting and was not answered. Another meeting is planned for this fall after BeltLine officials review the draft plans and public comments.
What do you think, Atlanta? Are you on board with this vision?
