Hillcrest in Sandy Springs Names Salted Melon and Chastain Creamery as Its First Two Tenants
The Sandy Springs Circle development we have been following now has two business names attached to it: Salted Melon, a cafe and market concept, and Chastain Creamery, an ice cream shop. Neither is open yet, and the developers say more tenant conversations are underway.

About This Short
We have been watching the development on Sandy Springs Circle since it was still a set of plans: apartments, townhomes, shops and green space. The piece nobody could answer was the one most neighbors actually care about, which is who would be behind those storefront doors. Hillcrest has now named its first two.
The first is Salted Melon, a cafe and market concept. The second is Chastain Creamery, bringing its ice cream shop to the development. Two names is not a tenant roster, and the developers say they are in conversation with more potential tenants, so this list should grow.
What those two names do give us is a sense of what Hillcrest is meant to feel like at street level, beyond the apartment count. A cafe and market and an ice cream shop are both the kind of businesses people walk to, which tells you something about how the ground floor is being imagined.
The honest caveats belong right alongside that. Neither business is open. And there is still uncertainty around exactly when the development will be finished, so I would hold any particular date loosely until the construction schedule firms up.
Still, after a long stretch of knowing only the unit types and the site plan, we can now name two of the places you will eventually be able to walk into here.
