About This Short
After years of delays and stalled construction, The Lodge development is finally nearing completion at one of East Atlanta’s most visible intersections.
Located between East Atlanta Village and Ormewood Park, the project is expected to open this summer with a mix of office, retail, hospitality, and workforce housing.
Early tenant announcements signal the type of direction this development is taking, combining local operators with mission-driven organizations. At the same time, the project leans heavily on adaptive reuse, with the restoration of the historic Masonic Lodge building anchoring the site.
The residential component also adds 42 workforce housing units, targeting residents earning between 30 and 80 percent of the area median income. In a market where affordability continues to be a concern, that piece alone makes this project worth watching.
Architecturally, the new brick building overlooking East Atlanta Village is already drawing attention for its more traditional design, a contrast to the flat, modern infill seen across much of the city.
Now that construction is nearing the finish line, the focus shifts from delays to impact. The real question is whether this becomes a true neighborhood destination or simply another completed project.
