The Money Question Got Answered at Phillis Wheatley. The Calendar Question Did Not.

A block west of Mercedes-Benz Stadium, the 1951 Phillis Wheatley Westside YWCA is being renovated for childcare, onsite medical access and mental health services. The $19.5 million campaign closed. The opening target has now moved five times, most recently to the first quarter of 2027.

Invest Atlanta approved a $29 million tax incentive bond and a $2 million TAD grant to rebuild Trestletree Village, the 1940s Section 8 community now split by the Beltline's Southeast Trail. Sandy Springs Wants to Buy Its Water System. Permits Are Already Gated on It.

Mediation over the Sandy Springs water system began Sept. 17, twenty years after the two cities failed to reach a service agreement. Nothing on a water bill changes this month. What changed is permitting: since March 3, multi-unit and attached-home projects need a flow study first.

Five Houses Became 21. Sandy Springs Is Still Asking Where More Housing Should Go.

A $1.15 million plan rewrite is asking Sandy Springs residents where a wider range of housing belongs. It will not rezone a single parcel. Meanwhile 21 homes were approved on five Spalding Drive lots, 421 homes got incentives at North River, and 382 apartments are going up at Glenlake.

79 Income-Restricted Apartments Are Planned Beside Hartland Station

Andover Place is planned for 80 units in two three-story buildings on Lakewood Avenue, with rents assigned by income tier and a late 2027 finish date. Like nearly every housing project built around Metropolitan Parkway in the last five years, it only pencils because public money is in the stack.

Atlanta’s $236 Million Water Debt Is Disputed. The 5,363 Shutoffs Are Not.

The debate over whether Atlanta should start cutting off water skips the record. The city already terminated service 5,363 times between July 2023 and March 2026, and 175 of those were commercial accounts. Meanwhile the delinquent balance grew 19 percent to a figure the commissioner disputes.

Atlanta Is Backing a $500 Rent Loan. Your Landlord Decides If You Can Get One.

The city is backing a $500 no-interest rent loan, repaid at $20 a week, paid straight to your rent balance. No credit check, no collections. The catch is not the money. Eligibility runs through your housing provider, and no target was announced for how many Atlanta households this reaches.

Atlanta Ran 115,578 Plate Searches This Year. The Rulebook Is Still A Draft.

Atlanta's rules for who can search its license plate camera network are department policy, not city law. An ordinance to change that was referred back to the Public Safety Committee on Monday with no date set for another vote. Here is what that gap actually means for drivers.
